MEMBER ALERT! SCAM: Massachusetts Corporations

VERY IMPORTANT - SCAM RE: MASSACHUSETTS CORPORATIONS

If you are a corporate shareholder, officer, or employee, you may have recently received a form in a green envelope entitled "Annual Minutes Requirement Statement" from an entity called Compliance Services (71 Commercial Street in Boston).  This "Annual Minutes" statement and the $125 fee are NOT required by the Massachusetts Secretary of State's office.  It is very misleading because the information on the statement and the $125 fee are similar to the corporate annual report and fee that is required by the Secretary of State's office.  Please do not complete this form and do not send Compliance Services the $125 fee.  For more details on this scam and the contact information for the Attorney General's office, please visit this link.

Please forward this information to anyone you know who may be a corporate shareholder, officer, or employee.

Finally, just a reminder related to other scams, the IRS and Massachusetts Department of Revenue never e-mail taxpayers regarding tax issues or tax due amounts.  Please do not respond to any e-mails related to tax payments, tax returns, tax notices, etc.  The IRS and Massachusetts Department of Revenue will send a letter in the mail if there is an issue with your tax returns or any tax payments.

THANK YOU to Brenda Bianculli, CPA, MST for bringing this to our attention and helping us alert our Members!
