Mixology 401: Versatile Vodka • The Duck
Tuesday, August 19, 2014 • 6:30pm
Come join your favorite mix-masters at The Duck for the fourth installment of our mixology classes. This month’s course subject is vodka. Vodka is a spirit which originated in Eastern Europe, the name stemming from the Russian word 'voda' meaning water, or as the Poles would say ‘woda.’ The chameleon of liquors, vodka has a crisp flavor that pairs effortlessly with almost any mixer. The secrets to successful vodka drinks are a creative imagination and an expert eye for ratios. Before you tackle the ever-growing list of vodka cocktails, we’ll start with some of the basics that have been enjoyed by drinkers for decades and show no signs of losing their appeal.
Here are the details: Includes hands-on demonstration and sampling of cocktails. Cocktails will be paired with an appetizer created by our chefs. You’ll learn how to mix, shake, pour, and garnish. Guests will receive recipe cards for both drinks and appetizers. The price for this evening’s activities is just $25 per person.
