The Pan-Massachusetts Challenge is the nation’s original fundraising bike-a-thon and today raises more money than any other athletic fundraising event in the country. The PMC is a model of fundraising efficiency. Since 2007, the PMC has donated 100% of every rider-raised dollar directly to cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through its Jimmy Fund. The PMC is so well-known in cycling and fundraising circles that each year people travel from around the world to participate.
The 36th PMC ride is Aug 1 and 2, 2015. The ride has three starting lines Sturbridge, Wellesley and Bourne, and five finish lines in Provincetown (2), Bourne, Wellesley and Foxboro.
Riders and volunteers often describe Sturbridge as a reunion. The beginning of the original route, it is the place where riders and volunteers congregate, register for the event, share a meal together and participate in the opening ceremonies. On Saturday morning, volunteers prepare a healthy breakfast for the riders and manage the challenge of getting several thousand riders out of the hotel parking lot by 5:30 am!
Cheer on the riders at the Sturbridge start line or visit the PMC website to register or to donate!
