They were four men with one calling: To serve and protect. When tragedy strikes home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, fears, faith and fathering. Protecting the streets was second nature to them. But raising their children in a God-honoring way? That’s courageous.
That’s the storyline for the movie that was recently in theaters, “Courageous.” Now being released on DVD, Charlton Baptist has bought the rights to show this life-changing movie free to the public on two dates. “Courageous” will be shown from 6 to 8:15 p.m., Saturdays, February 11 and March 3 at the church, located at 50 Hammond Hill Road, Charlton, MA. Charlton Baptist is also offering free child care for this event for infants to sixth grade students. Advanced registration for child care is required.
“Courageous is really about becoming a hero first in your home, raising your children in a God-honoring way. It is about going against the grain of society and being more than just a good dad and going through the motions,” said Pastor Steve Coddington, Charlton Baptist’s Youth and Families Pastor. “Courageous is about embracing being a father that loves your children unconditionally, and pouring yourself into them – wholeheartedly. That’s God’s desire for dads and it mirrors the Father that He is to us.”
