Gateway Players Theater presents a free comedic movement workshop by Nicole Portwood on Saturday, October 6th from 10am-noon at the Southbridge Community Center, 153 Chestnut St., Southbridge. The workshop will focus on comedic stage presence, and will include activities such as: facial expressions, comedy antics, pratfalls, walk/comedic demeanor, juggling and other body movement used to express humor onstage.
Nicole Portwood (aka Maggie the Clown) has been performing since attending the Ringling Bros. and Barnum &Bailey Clown College. In addition to her work with the circus, she has entertained audiences at Disneyland and Disney World, birthday parties, holiday events, corporate outings, schools and libraries. She enjoys working with groups of all ages, and brings a wealth of experience and heart to all events.
The workshop is free to ages 10 and up (yes, even you adults should join us!), and registration is not required but appreciated (for planning purposes). Please call Gateway at 508-764-4531 to let us know if you will be attending. This workshop is funded in part by a grant from the Southbridge Cultural Council, a local agency, funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
