WHAT: CBA speaker, state Rep. Peter J. Durant, R-Spencer

State Rep. Peter J. Durant, R-Spencer, will brief area business and professional people on current state issues affecting their enterprises when he speaks Sept. 26 to the business networking/referrals group, Community Business Associates.

CBA is the networking and referrals group of the Central Mass. South Chamber of Commerce. The group meets at 7:15 a.m. in the Oliver Wight Tavern at Old Sturbridge Village.

Mr. Durant has been in public service since the late 1990s as a Spencer Finance Committee member, town selectman and, since 2010, as state representative for the 6th Worcester District. On Beacon Hill he serves on the Joint Committee on Transportation, the Joint Committee on Municipalities, and the House Post Audit and Oversight Committee.
He brings a background in business both as an owner and most recently as Vice President of Service for Yankee Technology (now Automated Logic Corp.) in Ludlow before being elected to the House.

CBA meetings also feature networking and community updates and adjourn by 8:30 a.m. Guests are welcome at no charge.
