WHERE: Oliver Wight Tavern, Old Sturbridge Village
WHEN: 7:15 a.m., March 28, 2014
Marketing and web development entrepreneur Matt Ward will offer some ground rules for the shifting landscape of Web search to members and guests at the Community Business Associates morning meeting March 28.
Mr. Ward has a deep involvement with Web search dating from the 1990s working in quality assurance at Lycos.com, where he worked directly with their partners — industry giants such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN —on a keyword bidding management system for the pay-per-click industry.
President and CEO of inConcert Web Solutions in Gardner, he has branched from website development to providing other marketing materials such as print and promotional items for clients across the U.S. Mr. Ward continues to direct a team of professionals in website design and development. He is a frequent speaker on web search visibility and his book, “Making Your Website Effective” offers many up-to-date ideas. In September 2011, he was honored as one of the Worcester Business Journal's 40 Under 40.
Google, which dominates the search market, is shifting its criteria for ranking websites as blogs, social media and mobile devices become more dominant. Mr. Ward will discuss strategies and attitudes to bring to the task of keeping web presence as visible as possible.
CBA is the networking and referrals group of the Central Mass. South Chamber of Commerce. Guests may attend at no charge. The 7:15 a.m. meeting is in the Oliver Wight Tavern at Old Sturbridge Village and adjourns at 8:30 a.m.
