Woman In Business, Inc., a 501c(3) that supports women by fostering networking, sharing information and experiences, and providing educational opportunities, will be hosting its annual Motivational Gathering on May 10 with Guest Speaker Hank Phillippi Ryan, noted author and on-air investigative reporter.
How does an Emmy winning reporter become a best-selling author of fast-paced murder mysteries? And how does a just-the-facts journalist add mystery fiction to her resume? How does she juggle being a reporter, author, wife, and grandmother, and navigate making a mid-life career change? In her talk, “An Inside Look at Mysteries, Television, and the Mysteries of Television,” Hank Phillippi Ryan shares all.
Hank talks about the span of her career from radio reporter in 1971 to Rolling Stone Magazine to the US Senate to undercover investigations at Boston's Channel 7, and the obstacles, rewards, and challenges of being a newbie reporter as well as an experienced senior reporter, mentoring, and taking risks. Learn how she ended up where she is at 67, and what it takes to make a career change at mid-life.
Doors open at 5:00pm for networking with cash bar and appetizers. The evening will also include a book signing for Hank's new book, "Say No More." The cost is $15 for WIB Members and $20 for Non-members. Pre-registration is recommended as seating is limited. Tickets can be purchased online at www.wibsturbridge.org or at the door the evening of the event.
This event is Hosted by Woman In Business and Sponsored by Christopher Heights of Webster, Webster First Federal Credit Union, Spiewak Consultants and Your Hometown Shopper.
