Long before there was a Me Too movement, there was Lucy Stone. This forward-thinking West Brookfield native was an adamant abolitionist who became a fierce suffragette. She spoke out against slavery and for women’s rights at a time when women were expected to been seen and not heard. Stone was the first woman in Massachusetts to earn a college degree.
