Sturbridge, MA…….Your Hometown Shopper, a monthly community “shopper” promoting local businesses and services to homeowners, residents, and businesses in the “Tantasqua Region and Beyond,” is under new ownership. Your Hometown Shopper, started in 2005 and published by The Journal of Antiques & Collectibles, Inc., was sold in October 2014 to Maxine Carter-Lome and Jeffrey Lome of Weathervane Enterprises, Inc., who now own and publish both publications out of their office on Hall Road in Sturbridge. The Lomes have recently relocated full time to Sturbridge from Great Barrington, MA.
Maxine Carter-Lome, a 30 year marketing and publishing executive, has a history of building community and promoting “local.” As the sales and marketing manager of The Shopper’s Guide, a weekly community shopper covering the tri-state Southern Berkshire region of Massachusetts, Maxine was responsible for building sales, and the Shopper’s online presence and community outreach.
“Shoppers have a great history of bringing communities together by connecting buyers with sellers, businesses with customers,” says Publisher Maxine Carter-Lome. “Our goal is to strengthen and extend that connection by enhancing our web site and social media outreach, and working hard to be more visible and accessible to readers and advertisers.”
Since assuming ownership in October, the staff at Your Hometown Shopper has launched a new web site (www.sturbridgeshopper.com) and Facebook page @ YourHometownShopper to promote its advertisers and share community news, redesigned its look, and extended its local presence to embrace the broader Tantasqua region.
Your Hometown Shopper is direct mailed the first of every month to every residential and business mailbox in Sturbridge, Fiskdale, and Holland, and is available for pick-up at over 30 high-traffic business locations throughout the Tantasqua Region. It can also be read online at www.sturbridgeshopper.com.
