We just finished another conference call with Secretary Bialecki. Given the magnitude of the storm, Massachusetts is pretty lucky to have weathered the storm so well. Logan airport is open and flying planes. All public transportation is operational again. There are less than 300,000 people in MA without power and service is being restored quickly. While nine hospitals lost power, all have been able to remain open with the use of their generators. There are some road closures, mostly due to downed trees, but these are getting cleared quickly. The south coast and the islands still have unusually high tides and flooding in some areas, but it appears no areas were hit as severely as feared. Our thoughts and prayers are with those less fortunate, most especially those in NY and NJ.
