On Friday, April 26, 2019, the Chamber presented a ribbon cutting ceremony at The Overlook in Charlton to celebrate their Vista Adult Day Program.
The Overlook Vista Adult Day Program, known fondly by residents and staff as "The Vista Club," is a non-medical adult day program for loved ones with Alzheimer's or other dementias. It provides a safe, structured environment in a beautifully designed location where your loved one can engage in purposeful activities, receive a nutritious lunch and snacks, and find friendship and fun. The Overlook offers a place to go where everyone is treated with respect, compassion and dignity. You can feel confident that your loved one is in a safe and enriching environment, surrounded by new friends who will soon become familiar, comforting, reliable faces.
The goal of The Vista Club is to provide a place for individuals with dementia to feel independent, capable, able-minded and included. The staff at The Vista Club receive specialized dementia care training, allowing for successful engagement in purposeful, participant-centered activities. Our staff also become trusted companions who elicit good memories and create positive interactions that lift moods and increase personal worth, sense of belonging and confidence.
