Carpenter Rock Hike 10:30-11:30am
Let’s meet at the Nature Center and take the climb up to Carpenter’s Rock. The view from top will be well worth the adventure of hiking the steep hill! Look for clues along the way of the effects of nature on the trail, and compare and contrast how Wells State Park looks today compared to 200 years ago! Meet at the Nature Center. Bug spray, sunscreen, and water, is highly recommended. This program is geared for all ages who can complete a moderate hike.
Nature Center Open House 2:00-4:00pm
Come stop by the Nature Center to see what we have! Discovery Backpacks are available to explore the park. See displays of animal skulls and owl pellets, and even listen to some bird calls.
Wildlife at Wells 4:00-5:00pm
Meet a Park Interpreter at the Nature Center to take a stroll on Mill Pond Trail. We will look for signs of mammals, birds and fish. We can also check “animal signs” or the effects critters have on the land. Maybe if we are really lucky we will see something exciting! Bug spray, sunscreen, and water, is highly recommended. This program is geared for all ages.
All programs are free for campers and open to the public for a $2 parking fee. Reasonable accommodations available upon request. For more information please call the park. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
