9:00-10:30am Fishing with the Park Interpreter Meet at Walker Pond Beach entrance and we will stroll down to our fishing location. Learn all about the fish that can be found at Wells State Park and how important the water is for the fish, as well as for us. Bring your fishing gear and if needed loaner poles are available. This program is geared for children, but everyone is welcome. Beginner fishermen are encouraged to participate. It is recommended to bring water and bug spray. Register at the Nature Center with the Park Interpreter ahead of time to reserve a spot for this program. This program is limited to 10.
1:00-2:00pm Carpenter Rock Hike Let’s meet at the Nature Center and take the climb up to Carpenter Rock. The view from top will be well worth the adventure of trudging up the steep hills! Look for clues along the way of the affects of nature has affected the trail, and compare and contrast how Wells State Park looks today compared to 200 years ago! Meet at the Nature Center. Bug spray, sunscreen, and water, is highly recommended. This program is geared for all ages.
3:00-4:00-pm Sticks and Stones Sticks and Stones may break your bones, but not these nature craft tools! Meet at the Nature Center for some arts and crafts fun. Bring your creativity and the Park Interpreter will provide all your arts and crafts needs. Using nature materials found here at Wells State Park you will be sure to gain knowledge about what makes this place so special. Geared to children ages 6-12 but everyone is welcome. Meet at the Pavilion across from the Nature Center.
