The Tri-Community YMCA, a non-profit, charitable organization, has extended their AOA (Active Older Adult) group exercise classes for senior citizens ages 65 and over. These FREE low impact classes, taught by Y instructors trained in senior fitness, will give older adults an opportunity to stay physically active or start being physically active.
The YMCA will be offering classes twice a week starting on December 1st: Yoga on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m and Latin Zumba on Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A healthy lunch will also be offered following class, for a suggested voluntary donation of $3.00 for each meal to help defray costs. Call Tri-Valley, Inc. at (508) 794-1469 to reserve your lunch spot. For those who cannot drive themselves, free transportation is available. Call SCM Elderbus to schedule a pick-up at (508) 248-1050, with vouches available through the YMCA.
Funding for this project provided in part by a Community Development Block Grant administered by the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development and the Town of Southbridge. A collaborative program between the Jacob Edwards Library, the Council on Aging, SCM Elderbus, Tri-Valley, Inc., Harrington HealthCare System and the Tri-Community YMCA.
