Free admission and a special gift for moms (while supplies last) on Mother's Day at Old Sturbridge Village, with family events planned throughout the day, including a "Moms vs. Kids" tug-o-war.
Visit the Village households and craftshops to learn about parenting in the 19th century. See the tinsmith make a baby rattle and the potter make a chamber pot for potty training. Learn about cooking for children and hear performances of "Songs for Mothers and Children."
In addition, there will be advice from Lydia Maria Child, author of the 19th-century best seller "The Mother's Book" and a visit with 1830s midwife Lucy Tucker.
