"Come visit Camp Robinson Crusoe with US."
Film maker Bruce Butcher, with help from town historian Bob Briere, is creating a documentary about Camp Robinson Crusoe. He will give us a preview of his work.
From 1932 until 1970, Camp Robinson Crusoe was a popular summer camp located on 400 acres here in Sturbridge. The Camp was extremely innovative for its time by being coed, non-competitive and allowing a lot of freedom of choice. Come find out more about this piece of Sturbridge history.
This is part of the land recently purchased from Old Sturbridge Village by the Town of Sturbridge and the State Department of Fisheries and Wildlife. After hearing the presentation you may be inspired to hike the trails of the Leadmine Mountain Conservation Land, which this area is now called.
Meeting open to members of the Friends, but presentation is open to the public.
Refreshments will be served.
