Event Description

Illustrated Lecture: New England’s Changing Landscape: Past, Present and Future

Thursday, November 6th, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Hitchcock Academy, Brimfield
Free – all invited

Ed Hood, Executive Director of Opacum Land Trust, will use archaeological, historical and early photographic documentation to provide an overview of the human impact on the land, and how the landscape we see in Brimfield, and all of southern central New England, today is the product of the continuous process of changing human land use.   Using new research from the field of land conservation, Ed will provide insights into the potential look and feel of towns like Brimfield in the future – a future that is being shaped by our actions today.
