Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester wants local community business and organization leaders to help complete its Sturbridge project and build more decent, affordable housing in the Tri-Community (Charlton, Southbridge, and Sturbridge) area.
Specifically, Habitat is seeking individuals, and business and community leaders to serve on currently established committees including building, outreach, and fundraising.
An information meeting for anyone interested in volunteering for one of the committees will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, September 29 in Dexter Hall at the Charlton Public Library, located at 40 Main St., Charlton.
The Habitat Tri-Community Build Project in Sturbridge is the product of a partnership between the Town of Sturbridge, the Sturbridge Housing Partnership and Habitat for Humanity – MetroWest/Greater Worcester (HFH-MW/GW). The Sturbridge Housing Partnership purchased the land using Community Preservation funds specifically to increase the affordable housing inventory in town.
Habitat is able to proceed with the Tri-Community Build in Sturbridge through the generosity of several local businesses, including Bronze Hammer Build Sponsor: Savers Bank; Copper Hammer Build Sponsors: Charter Communications/Charter TV 3, Harrington HealthCare System, Incom, Inc., Southbridge Savings Bank, and Worcester Regional Association of REALTORS, Inc., and Copper Hammer Partner: Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares.
