Event Description

Chef Rico will take you on a culinary tour by demonstrating the preparation of many local Calabrian dishes and teaching you about the foods from this very diverse region of Italy.

Calabria, the toe of the Italian boot, is the native region of many Italian immigrants of the early 20th century. When it comes to food, the terrain of Calabria is so diverse that there is a little bit of everything—from the porcini mushrooms of the Sila mountains to the delicacies of the fisheries on the coast, and onto the many pork and cheese preparations of the inland. Also, not known to many is that Calabria produces about 25% of all Italian olive oil. Chef Rico will take you on a culinary tour by demonstrating the preparation of many local Calabrian dishes and teaching you about the foods from this very diverse region of Italy. As always, you’ll get to try them all and receive recipe cards to take home.
