Boy Scout Day at Old Sturbridge Village
Registration is now open! Please click here to register!
Boy Scout Day is for Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of all ages who are interested in learning more about New England's past (Please note: Girl Scout Day is on April 13.)
This Boy Scout Day is all about conservation - then and now! Take part in an orienteering course* led by the Sturbridge Boy Scouts - prizes will be available for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places! Enjoy knot tying activities presented by the Warren Boy Scouts and join in discussions about conservation. Also, leave time to visit the new pasure walk lookout deck which will be dedicated on Boy Scout Day! The deck was a project of the Sturbridge Eagle Scouts!
Also, explore the everyday lives of boys and men of the early 19th century through demonstrations, storytelling and performances. Visit the animals and the costumed Villagers throughout the Countryside and the Center Village. Watch firearm demonstrations, take part in knot tying activities, scavenger hunts and more!
Register in advance for hands-on studios and workshops that meet Cub and Boy Scout requirements and, if time permits, consider making a quick craft in the Hands-on Crafts Center ($5-10 per activity - first come, first served; some age and safety restrictions apply).
Many programs on this day meet Cub and Boy Scout requirements; additional Studios not meeting Scout requirements are offered for siblings (boys and girls) and all scouts, ages 5-17.
* Compass NOT Included. Please bring your own compass to complete this course or purchase one at the OSV Gift Shop.
