Event Description

The Friends of the Joshua Hyde Library present an
AUTHOR EVENT

New York Times Bestselling Author and Autism Advocate
JOHN ROBISON

Thursday, May 29th, 7pm, At Old Sturbridge Village, Fuller Conference Center

John Elder Robison grew up in the 1960s. After dropping out of high school, John worked in the music business where he created sound effects and electronic devices, including the signature illuminated, smoking, and rocket firing guitars he built for KISS. It was not until he was forty that John Robison was diagnosed with a form of autism called Asperger’s syndrome. That understanding transformed the way he saw himself—and the world.

“Robison's thoughtful and thoroughly memorable account of living with Asperger's syndrome .. succeeds in his goal of helping those who are struggling to grow up or live with Asperger's to see how it is not a disease but a way of being that needs no cure except understanding and encouragement from others.”
- Publishers Weekly, Look Me in the Eye

THIS EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
